Doesn't work very well November 26, 2008 I bought this product because of its name, upon arrival the lighter didn't light. After a while it lit but it was supposed to be windproof, it's not. It is a damned ugly finish. I wouldn't buy it again.
Bloody Awesome Lighter! Don't know what the harsh reviews are about! November 16, 2008 I won this lighter at the Big Smoke in Las Vegas. This lighter has beat any reusable butane lighters that I have ever owned and I have kicked out for some expensive lighters. Flame is consistent and does not blow out in a moderate wind. I am very much looking forward to using this lighter while lighting up on the ski lifts. Buy with confidence and remember; its $50.00!!
Works for me February 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Being a Zippo collector, I was excited when I discovered that they were producing a butane lighter so I promptly ordered one. I have used many butane lighters in my life so I was interested to see how well Zippo's worked. The case of the lighter seems to be standard Zippo construction. Opening the lid, the thing that stands out to me the most is that although the lighter is butane, Zippo kept the flint wheel rather than using the piezioelectric spark producer found on most gas lighters. Piezio lighters can become an exercise in frustration when thier element gets out of alignment. Flint change for this lighter is a very easy procedure. So far my lighter has produced a strong flame through many fillings with no problems. I am careful to use good-quality butane to prevent clogs. I do miss a flame-adjustment knob, which Zippo saw fit to not include on this lighter. Fuel consumption seems to be comparable to most butane lighters. In general, I am very happy with this lighter. It does what I want it to do. Only time will tell how durable it will be in the long run. So far so good...
Pros: Flint wheel Zippo bullet-proof construction Lifetime warranty
Cons: No flame adjustment
Bad, Bad Zippo! January 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this from the Sweetbriar Cigar shop in Columbus, GA. It was kind of spontaneous but I was very excited when I first heard about Zippo entering the butane market. I paid around $50.00 with tax and immediately took it to a local cigar bar. I know for a fact the owner of the cigar shop filled it prior to me leaving but at the end of the night the thing was empty, after lighting about five cigars and several ladies cigarettes. I couldn't believe it! I was so disappointed. I had the bartender fill it up once more but then the flame was hardly high enough to light a pantella! So about two days later I took it back to the shop, and kudos for him he took it back without one complaint, maybe it helped I bought about $30.00 worth of cigars when I bought the lighter. So all in all I am not going to recommend this product to anyone. Sorry Zippo but if I were you I would not claim this thing to be made in the U.S.A.
The modern zippo November 11, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Dusted Chrome Torch Flame Zippo Blu is all that a zippo should be and no longer has the smell of lighter fluid. My only concern is that part of the mechanism is plastic. I hope it has the durability of a traditional zippo
