Despite what the Amazon "Product Description" states, the instructional insert that arrives inside this insulated bottle explicitly states that the bottle is for *cold* beverages only.
The insert does not explain from what material the inner surface is comprised. This is why I rated the product with only 3 / 5 stars.
The plastic cap screws off, and has a spring loaded flip-top lid with a seal to prevent spillage when the top is closed. The cap also has a seal for the area where the bottle presses when the cap is screwed tight.
For those that care about the origin of what they purchase, the sticker on the bottom of the bottle indicates "Made in China".
