It's a Zippo. Zippos will light in the midst of a tornado. They're guaranteed. They're timeless and classy. Best of all for the pipe smoker, the chimney of this Zippo directs the flame to the side, not to the top, easing the pleasant but not always simple task of lighting a pipe. Every pipe smoker should have at least one.

First off, it's a Zippo...nuf said. Having said that, this particular Zippo has holes on either side of the mantle to allow you to light your pipe without burning/singeing the brim of your bowl. I use a lot of corn cob and meerschaum pipes and they are generally hard to keep from getting burn marks on the brim of the bowl. I am very pleased with this lighter.

This is possibly the greatest pipe lighter that I own. It's genius design has two holes, one on either side of the chiminey to allow the lighter to be tipped completely sideways to draw in a perfect flame. Good for righty's and lefty's. No more burn't pipe rims or fingers. Nothing but perfectly lit tobacco every time. Just make sure that when you draw in on the flame that the lighter is full of the right fuel. Old Zippo fuel makes the flame taste nasty so definitely get the Zippo fuel that either has a red upper left hand corner that says "New Formula," or get the fuel that says: "Contains: Petroleum-distillate, Naphtha." The new formula is oderless and tasteless and the fuel with Naphtha in it smells like oil, but it's tasteless.
